Armando Broja has confirmed he could leave Chelsea on loan this summer in search of regular playing time.
According to discussions within the squad; The 22-year-old striker is frustrated by his lack of opportunities at Chelsea this season and has made just seven Premier League appearances, all from the bench.
Broja has been linked with a move to Newcastle United. and West Ham United, and he has now confirmed he will leave Chelsea on loan in January.
“I spoke to the club and told them I want to leave.”
“I need to play regularly and currently I’m not achieving that at Chelsea.
“I’m ambitious and want to play at the highest level, so I have to play regularly.
“I’m not going to sit here and wait for my chance. I want to go out, compete and show what I can do.”
Broja also criticized former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, who he claimed later told him he was not good enough to play for Tottenham.
Broja said: “I spoke to Pochettino when I was at Tottenham and he told me I wasn’t good enough to play for the first team.
“It was a shock to me at the time that, but it made me even more determined to prove him wrong.
“I will show everyone what I can do and I will return to Chelsea a better player.”
Broja’s departure is a blow to Chelsea, who were already short on options in attack, with Christian Pulisic and Giroud, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having left the club.
Chelsea now have will likely be looking for a new striker in the summer.
