Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green is a controversial figure on and off the court throughout his career. When he’s not busy getting suspended for his immature and foolish actions, he’s a classy defensive player, a good offensive player, and a four-time NBA champion.
No matter what you think of Green as a loudmouth, no one can deny that he was a great basketball player and a future Hall of Famer. But as Green got older, he became more and more involved in the media industry. He has his own podcast and is looking into a career in media after playing for a few years.
Wednesday night, Green joined Inside the NBA team on TNT for the show broadcast of their two Celtics titles. /Cavaliers then Mavericks/Thunder. While he’s no stranger to bold, sometimes controversial statements, some of Green’s online comments seem petty and hateful.
He knows a lot about the game play and he analyzes it very clearly, but he seems to have a personal opinion. bias and on Wednesday night he went after Rudy Gobert and the Timberwolves in a way that seemed uncomfortable to watch.
Draymond criticized Gobert for not being able to stop Nikola Jokic and not taking responsibility.
He mocks Rudy for saying the team needs to play better, saying Rudy just needs to step up and get the stops. Green also made a somewhat inappropriate joke about Gobert being from France.
Overall, it was strange and inappropriate behavior from a other NBA players and guys. Cooked by Jokic himself.
The Warriors were swept by the Nuggets this year, and Jokic dominated those games with or without Dryamond on the court.
Jokic and the Nuggets also made quick work of Green and the Warriors in the playoffs last season.
These comments from Draymond show pure bitterness and make it seem like he has a personal feud with Gobert (he did, after all, strangle that man during a game earlier this season).
There is simply no place for this in the media and NBA discourse.
I thought Green had a bright future as an analyst in his early days, but this is pathetic and almost insulting to fans.
Maybe Draymond should spend more More time for his own game, looking to try and slow Jokic down. , and stop attacking the person so he can stay on the field.
So maybe his team did better than the 10th seed and he could actually make the playoffs instead of spouting nonsense in a televised tryout.
