The Newcastle United defender is currently on Euro 2024 duty with England amid interest from AC Milan
AC Milan are reportedly considering a move for Newcastle United playmaker Kieran Trippier this summer.
The 33-year-old is currently on international duty, where he has started all four of England’s Euro 2024 games. Trippier has one year remaining on his Toon contract – worth £120,000-a-week.
Eyebrows were raised in January 2022 when he became the first player to gain credit following the club’s ‘Saudi Arabia’-backed takeover. The England international then secured his survival and won the Champions League the following season.
His leadership skills were crucial to Newcastle’s success under Eddie Howe, with Trippier captaining in the absence of Jamaal Lascelles. However, there was a noticeable dip – particularly around Christmas – last season.
Trippy’s form was questionable and he missed part of the Premier League through injury. The right-back attracted interest from Bayern Munich in January, but Newcastle rejected two bids.
But the St James’ Park hierarchy are likely to sell Trippier this time around. Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Newcastle and AC Milan are “in touch” about a potential deal after the Euros end.
