Manchester United could push to sign Xavi Simons after losing out on Michael Olise
Alongside United, both Chelsea and Newcastle had shown interest and held initial talks but as per The Athletic, Olise has decided Germany will be his destination with Bayern as his chosen club. As such, the three interested English clubs need to look elsewhere in order to improve their respective frontlines.
At Stamford Bridge, the plan remains to sign a winger and a striker while Newcastle are advancing in talks to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton.
As for United, it is currently unclear what Erik ten Hag will do following Olise’s decision, however it is likely there were a number of options being considered alongside Olise.

With United and Arsenal already in contact, Ten Hag could be tempted by a move for Simons, especially as Bayern is about to sign Olise.
The German giants have held specific discussions with PSG over a mandatory loan deal for Simons and there is no reason why United cannot try to strike a similar deal.
