Mauricio Pochettino speaks at a press conference.

Chelsea take on Brighton on Wednesday night in their final Premier League match of the 2023/24 season. The short trip to Amex Stadium is extremely important for the Blues as they aim to qualify for Europe next season.

Pochettino has led his team to three consecutive wins. continue in the Premier League and a win tomorrow would see him score four goals in a match for the first time in his time at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea boss will speak to the media on this afternoon as he covers the latest injury news, Reece James’ return and more.

Bobby Vincent is live at Cobham both morning and afternoon to help you Keep up to date with everything the Chelsea head coach has to say.

On James’ chances of playing in the Euros

He’s been training really well. Now we have to control the playing time. We want him to finish the season well. We want him to play a little more than the last game.

Of course we have players who are improving and maturing. They are having their first experience in the Premier League.

The goalkeeper comes from MLS and is doing great, he is maturing and discovering exciting feelings in the most difficult league. I want to be honest, so much of Chelsea’s history, today it’s impossible but in time we will be able to match it.

I think our fans see the what we’re doing, but I think we’re doing some great work. work because of circumstances, really bad circumstances. Let’s stay calm, work and really believe in what we’re doing.

To end the season on a high note

Yes, of course. Football is about results. I think the next two matches are really important to finish well with the possibility of reaching Europe.

For the fans

It’s a question for them [if they like It] . At Tottenham, the first season was also difficult. What I don’t like is that we’re not fake people. We won’t say we like something to which we still need an emotional connection. It would have been easy for me to go into the first match and kiss the badge but that’s not in my nature. I want to create real emotions. If one day we come and feel the love between the fans and us, it will be true love, not fake because we are not fake.

Chelsea’s season – will it be? was it successful?

You were punished for the first 10 matches. I want to be positive. Next season I will start and I don’t want to say we are young or talk about injuries. I hope we can talk about developments or tactics.

At De Zerbi and Brighton

I really enjoy it every time we meet and play. I really like the way he approaches the game is playing great – you can see how they play and achieve a lot over the last few seasons.

There are more players >Players arriving after injury. It takes time and we don’t have it. time. We need to start the match with players capable of playing the full 90 minutes. This is the problem we have. The boys weren’t really at 100% from the start.

In the 50th game against Chelsea

I really enjoyed it. There are many new things that I am experiencing at this football club. We are much better now, the technical team. I really appreciate it. When you win matches, you enjoy it more and when you have problems – well, the proof shows whether you are capable of facing this negative situation or not.

About his future

Let’s make a plan. We work. We cannot accept that certain of my comments were made in a negative manner. I always try to stay positive and try to convey my feelings to you and everyone. I never said I don’t think about the future. We think about the future. The plan is in place, for the start of pre-season, data and all. Being here or not here is not in my hands.

About the goals of European football

People talk a lot about a lot of things. If you ask me and after all the circumstances of the last 10 months, going to Europe would be really good for us.

In the Brighton clash

It’s important to stay strong, spirit and of course truly believe. It is true that these will be two very difficult matches. The team is doing well in the second part of the season. In the last 26 or 27 matches, they are playing very well. We must continue on this path, trying to give our best.

About injuries

It is very good news that the last match saw many players Player returns to the track. Chilly is really close but he is not 100% capable of making the team. So is Carney Chukwuemeka. We need to evaluate both to see if they can make the squad.

Mauricio Pochettino will arrive in just under 20 minutes. You can follow every word the Chelsea boss said here…

Pochettino Summary

Here’s what he had to say after the comeback win over Forest on Saturday:

What was said about yesterday [Friday], are you completely happy where you are?

“I never said I wasn’t happy. I never said that. I said maybe I’m not happy, maybe I’m happy. But that’s normal, the title says. Sometimes I speak too honestly but that’s not the problem.

“I have one year more on my contract. Like I said yesterday, I’m thinking always in long-term, thinking that it’s going to be for life here. We are professional, we try to win games. We are trying to make the owners happy and the staff. I am responsible for all of the staff at the training ground in Cobham. I try to make the players happy and the fans. That is my job. Easy [laughs]. So easy.”

“You like to see all of the numbers and data. We were punished for the first 10 games, not because of our performances but because we were not clinical enough with the chances we created.

“In these first 10 games, to have between four and eight points more, I think today we would be in a completely different position. If you count the game we played against Tottenham [in November], that was number 10, we have played 26 games [since] and if you start to count from there I think we would be in the top four of five, for sure, with some very good performances.

Perhaps taking inspiration from Nicolas Jackson before the clash with Arsenal earlier this year, Caicedo has changed his hair colour from dark to blonde but still with the usual grade 1 haircut.

Shearer spot on with Jackson comments

Alan Shearer has recently come out in praise of Nicolas Jackson, who scored his 17th goal of the season (in all competitions) during Chelsea’s win against Nottingham Forest.

Jackson has been strongly criticised for chances he has missed during his debut campaign in England. Shearer, though, believes the treatment of Jackson has been “unfair”.

Bobby Vincent explains why Shearer has hit the nail on the head below…

Has Raheem Sterling made a case to be in the starting lineup at Brighton on Wednesday? The 29-year-old scored a fantastic goal as he made an immediate impact off the bench to help turn the match at Nottingham Forest in Chelsea’s favour.

Reece James, too, made an instant impact as he put the ball on a plate for Nicolas Jackson to head in the winning goal for the Blues at the City Ground. But is he fit enough to start a match yet?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below…

Will Reece James be available? Are Malo Gusto or Christopher Nkunku ready for a start?

From a European perspective, after he took to defending his position as manager last week – also hinting at a possible self-imposed exit – there could be some more chatter about his future too.
